Mexico, United States, Canada to hold talks on commercial agreement
17 de mayo de 2021, 9:31Mexico DF, May 17 (Prensa Latina) Mexico, United States and Canada will hold their first formal talks on the Free Trade Agreement (T-MEC) to deal concretely with each side s labor and environmental obligations. This is one if the more problematic issues, especially between the US and Mexico, who have contentious disagreements on labor laws.
This is a result of the close working relations between both countries, since not only do 37 millions of Mexicans reside in the United States, but many are also hired seasonally in farms.

The African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) could shape globalization for years to come, particularly if its architects are able to learn from history.
Skeptics of globalization rightly point out the negative aspects of free trade deals. Economic integration leads to heightened competition and structural changes in economies that participate in liberalized free trade areas, resulting in job losses in industries unable to compete.
Yet, globalization and the free trade deals that underpin the phenomenon can be beneficial for countries involved because of the opportunity to develop value chains, focus on competitive advantage, and gain access to large markets for manufactured products.

Soon after the summit, an EU-India joint statement was issued in which paragraph 23 is a clear indication of India having set the tone to get the GI tag for Basmati or at least get concessions in marketing the long-grain rice in the EU, according to trade analysts.
